Public Policy Charter
Your Sovereign Social World
A New Social World, Built with Care, Love and Life. Connect. Share. Belong. Thrive.
This Charter explains the principles that guide Hotverse and the standards we aim to uphold as the service develops. It is a public statement of direction, not a claim that every feature, safeguard, certification or process described here is already available.
1. Our commitment
We want Hotverse to be a welcoming place where people can connect, express themselves, discover ideas, build communities and celebrate creativity. We aim to treat people fairly, communicate honestly and improve the service responsibly.
2. Respect and community standards
People should be able to participate without targeted abuse, credible threats, intimidation, hateful harassment, deliberate impersonation or persistent unwanted contact. We may review reported content and take proportionate action under applicable rules and law. Depending on the circumstances and the tools available, action may include content removal, feature restrictions or account action. Enforcement decisions should be handled fairly and with appropriate consideration of context.
3. Privacy and personal information
We aim to handle personal information responsibly and to limit access to information to legitimate operational needs. Users should avoid posting passwords, financial details, private contact information or another person's sensitive information publicly. The information Hotverse actually collects, its purposes, retention periods, sharing practices and available privacy choices must be explained in a dedicated Privacy Policy that reflects the live service.
4. Account security and identity
Users are responsible for protecting their sign-in credentials and for activity carried out through their accounts, subject to applicable law. Do not pretend to be another person, falsely claim an official role or use another person's account without permission. Hotverse aims to protect account access and improve security, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
5. Children and vulnerable people
We aim to foster an environment that protects children and vulnerable people from exploitation, grooming, sexual abuse, coercion and other harm. Content or conduct involving child sexual abuse or exploitation is not acceptable. Applicable age requirements, reporting routes and safety measures must be communicated clearly as the service's dedicated safety policies are established.
6. Content and intellectual property
Users should share content they created, have permission to use or are otherwise legally entitled to share. Do not unlawfully copy, distribute or misuse another person's work, image or identity. Users retain rights they hold in their own content, subject to the permissions necessary to operate any service they choose to use. Detailed licensing, copyright complaints and counter-notice procedures should be set out in the applicable Terms of Service and intellectual-property policy.
7. Posts, photos, video, Stories and Live
Users should respect privacy, obtain appropriate permission before recording or publishing other people where required, and avoid sharing unlawful or harmful material. Live broadcasting and media features may depend on device support, browser permissions, connection quality and secure connection requirements. Feature availability may vary; we will not represent a feature as available or reliable where that has not been established.
8. Messages, groups, pages and events
Private messages should not be used for threats, fraud, spam, exploitation or persistent harassment. Group, page and event organisers should make reasonable efforts to maintain respectful spaces and provide accurate information. Users should be cautious with unsolicited links, requests for money and claims that cannot be verified.
9. Creators and monetisation
We support original creativity, meaningful participation and opportunities for African creators to reach audiences. Any creator earnings, eligibility thresholds, fees, revenue shares, withdrawal methods or payment schedules are governed by the specific programme terms actually published and offered at the time. No income, audience size, payout or commercial result is guaranteed by this Charter.
10. Hotverse Awards
We aim to recognise creativity, innovation, talent and positive impact. Award categories, eligibility, entry fees, judging criteria, prize amounts, timelines and dispute procedures must be communicated in the relevant official Awards rules. Users should rely on those published rules rather than promotional assumptions.
11. E-commerce and transactions
Buyers and sellers should provide truthful listings and communicate honestly. Users should verify the identity of counterparties, prices, delivery arrangements and refund terms before transacting. Any transaction, payment processing, seller protection, refund or dispute-resolution commitments must be described in the applicable commerce terms. Do not assume Hotverse guarantees a transaction unless an explicit published policy says so.
12. Advertising and promotions
Advertising and promotional activity should be lawful, truthful and not deliberately deceptive. Advertisers and creators must comply with applicable law and relevant platform rules. Paid placements and commercial relationships should be disclosed where required. Advertising availability and controls may depend on the features currently implemented.
13. Availability, reliability and recovery
We aim to improve reliability and protect service data. Access can nevertheless be interrupted by connectivity, equipment, maintenance, security incidents or other circumstances. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, complete offline functionality or recovery of every item of data. Users should retain independent copies of important content where appropriate.
14. Accessibility and inclusion
We aim to make Hotverse understandable and usable by people with different needs, devices, languages and levels of connectivity. Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility; this statement is an objective, not a certification that every part of the service currently meets every accessibility standard.
15. Third-party services and links
External websites, payment providers, networks and other third-party services may have their own terms, security practices and privacy policies. Their availability and conduct are not automatically controlled by Hotverse. Users should review relevant third-party terms before sharing information or making payments.
16. Legal requests and compliance
We aim to respond to valid legal obligations through appropriate processes and to handle user information in accordance with applicable law. We do not promise that information will never be disclosed where disclosure is legally required.
17. Reports, complaints and appeals
We encourage users to report harmful content, suspected impersonation, security concerns and policy violations through reporting or contact routes actually provided by Hotverse. Where an appeal process is offered, its instructions and scope will be explained in that process. Contact channels and response times must not be assumed unless officially published.
18. Changes to this Charter
As Hotverse develops, this Charter may be updated to reflect changes in the service, user needs, risks or legal obligations. Material changes should be reflected in the published version and, where appropriate, communicated to users. The effective date shown above identifies this version.
19. Governance and accountability
Hotverse shall, for now, operate under a parent company to be announced soon. Until the relevant legal entity and official contact details are confirmed and published, this Charter does not identify a specific company as the legal contracting party. We aim to make governance, responsibilities and official contact routes clearer as the service matures.
20. Important legal information
This Charter is a general statement of principles. It does not replace the dedicated Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, Community Standards, Creator Programme Terms, Awards Rules or E-commerce Terms. Those documents should be published and reviewed against the actual service, the confirmed legal entity and applicable law. If a dedicated policy or legally binding agreement applies to a particular activity, consult that document for the detailed terms.
